Edward VIII 1936 Commemorative issue Empire Day Medal with original ribbon. The medal was produced for the British Empire Union by the Royal Mint to commemorate Empire Day on May 24th being the anniversary of Queen Victoria's birth.
Obverse of coin has Empire Day May 24th with Image of Edward VIII and lettering FOR GOD KING AND EMPIRE by Metcalfe. The reverse has a seated Britannia holding olive branch and caduceus with lettering EMPIRE DAY MAY 24TH BRITISH EMPIRE UNION by Thomas Humphrey Paget. The medal is of copper and D: 33m with a plain edge.
